Fort Lauderdale retail — same-day flood response reopens 14 tenants

After a 4-inch overnight rain event flooded a Fort Lauderdale strip center's parking lot to curb height, we dispatched within 3 hours, cleared the trunk line, and had the property drivable before the next opening shift.

Client
Multi-tenant retail center (14 tenants)
Location
Fort Lauderdale, FL
Property
Retail / commercial parking
Timeline
24 hours, storm to reopen

The challenge

Twelve catch basins were fully submerged and the primary 24" trunk line running to the outfall was blocked by hardened sediment and construction debris from a neighboring project. Tenants were losing revenue by the hour and the property manager had a Monday-morning inspection scheduled with the anchor tenant's regional VP.

Scope of work

Emergency vactor + hydro-jetting response to restore drainage on a fully flooded commercial parking lot.

  • Same-day dispatch with combo vac / jet truck
  • Vacuum extraction of standing water and sediment from all 12 basins
  • Hydro-jetting of 220 LF of 24" trunk line to the outfall
  • Downstream vacuum recovery of dislodged material
  • Before/after CCTV to document the restored line
  • Written report + photo package delivered by end of day
